Earthlink Technical Service Number @ +๐-(๐๐๐)-๐๐๐-๐๐๐๐ Email PHone Number @ The article intends to explain the procedure of importing contacts from Excel to Earthlink using simple instructions. Though we have tried to compile the simple and reliable information in this article, it is still recommended that you follow the instructions carefully to avoid facing any problem. Users often use their Earthlink to store and further use large amount of personal data including emails, contacts etc. Importing is one of those practices that users perform to transfer data into Earthlink for further use. You may want to import your Excel sheet contacts into Earthlink for a number of reasons. However, it is not possible to directly import contacts from Excel to Earthlink . You will have to do a little workaround to do the importing. Sounding difficult? Thinking of contacting technical support for help? Don't worry. You don't need to contact your technical help as we have brought you this step-by-step guide that will help you import your Excel contacts into Earthlink painlessly. Instructions: Export from Excel: First of all, you would need to export the contacts from Excel spreadsheet to a CSV (comma separated value) file using these simple instructions. If your Excel sheet(s) contains data into different columns like Name, Phone number, Email address etc., then click on the File menu at the top and click the Save As option. When the Save As window comes up, select a folder from the dropdown menu next to the Save in box, give a name to the file such as 'excel contacts' (or a name of your choice) in the File name box, select CSV (Comma delimited) from the dropdown menu of Save as type box, and click on the Save button. Now you are done exporting Excel contacts to a CSV file. If your Excel sheet doesn't contain column-divided data, then it is recommended that you do so. To do so, add a blank cell to the Excel sheet and divide data into different columns like Name, address etc. Once you are finished doing so, follow the same procedure to export the data to a CSV file format. Import into Earthlink : If you are importing Excel contacts in to the existing Contacts folder in Earthlink , then use this method. Open Earthlink , click on the File menu at the top, and select Import and Export. When the Import and Export wizard window opens up, select Import from another program or file, and click on the Next button. Under the Import a File window, click on Comma Separated Values (Windows), and click on Next. If you find that the file displayed in the File to import box is the file the correct file (in this case 'excel contacts' that we created while exporting), click on the Next button (allow the duplicates to be created if you are unsure by selecting one of the three options on the same window before clicking on the Next button), and then click on the Finish button to close the window. If you find that the file is not the desired one, then click on the Browse button to locate the file, double click on it to open (like 'excel contacts'), select Allow duplicates option (if you want to), and then click on the Next button. If you doubt that the columns in Excel spreadsheet won't correctly map to the Earthlink fields, select Map custom fields option before clicking on the Finish button. If you are trying to import contacts to a new folder and not to the existing folder, then create a new folder. Open Earthlink , right click on the Contacts folder, and select New Folder. Give a name to the folder and then click on the OK button to close the window. Now follow the same procedure to access the Import and Export wizard and start importing. Additional Tidbits: If you find that the Map custom fields option is not available, then you must have selected a non-contact type folder to import your contacts into. Click on the Back button and then browse to the correct folder. When done, click on the OK button to close the Map custom fields box, and then click on the Finish button to close the window.
